"There are 10 types of people in the world: those who understand binary and, those who don't"
The Code Innovation Series served a perfect platform for geeks like me to explore the wonders of the computing world. The vast expanse of technology made it more intriguing than it seemed and my inquisitive self couldn't resist. An opportunity for the ages, this is what I was longing for, a HACKATHON to ignite our ingenious minds and propel them to innovate in this field. Fascinated and enthralled by the event, my team and I embarked on a journey which introduced us to the future.
The JOURNEY and the INSIGHT
IncubateIND fed into our mailboxes regarding the hackathon. Hustling began in every possible group of the college with teams being formed. Why would someone not enroll in an event which sounded as groovy as what it happened to be. The only challenge was how not to participate and why not to? There was never a question of potential. What I love about these events is that they bring people with different thoughts together. How the crazy ideas miraculously fuse into one is the beauty of such events.
Ideas flooded in from everywhere. We had to stick to either of the three domains, which were Education, Health Care and Finance. Choosing one was a dilemma. We went ahead with Education citing the importance of the same, today and tomorrow. A team full of prospects had their heads into the game all the time. At no point did we gasp or keep ourselves away from our goal. We were quite enjoying it. And finally the ideas clubbed into one and we were through with the project.
AUTOMATE - A STEP TOWARDS ADAPTIVE SMART LEARNING
Corona virus has compelled us to go the online way. To thrive in such circumstances has become difficult, especially education sector. Schools and Colleges being closed, online classes are becoming no fun and disorganized, with students' schedule uprooted. Automate comes to the rescue.
Automate is a desktop application for the students. It will provide a good user interface from which students can schedule their classes for a complete week and the same schedule can be repeated for further weeks. It will be a startup application that would run in the background. It will act as a reminder, popping up a notification a few minutes before the scheduled task. Students can link their Twilio account to our application so as to get notifications directly to their phone as an SMS. The executable file will be up in no time and students can relax their day with effortless scheduling .
The EXPERIENCE
These events have always been a learning experience for everyone. Well for me, it was more than just a learning experience. After finishing the project, I honestly did not wait for the results because this event had more to it than just winning. The journey was a roller coaster ride. An incredible expedition into artificial intelligence and binaries. Never thought technology would have an immense positive impact on one and a group. Skipping classes made it possible though. And then the results, bagging the third spot had me overwhelmed throughout the day. Appreciations took me over the moon. The GitHub GOODIES offered as a reward did the icing on the cake. All in all it was a great experience, a team of strangers uniting to build the present and the future, thanks to IncubateIND.
Great start - keep going.
